Family Trip, part 9 (or Where We Enjoyed Azaleas and the Monuments)

We were in DC too early for the cherry blossoms, but the azaleas more than made up for it!

The Smithsonian Castle

The Washington Monument
We weren't able to go into the monument because it was damaged in the earthquake last year.

It's important to stay hydrated!

How cute is my family!?!

WWII Memorial

Korean War Memorial

Lincoln Memorial
Aleah had been talking about seeing this since she first found out we were going on the trip. Very cool that they had already learned about it that much in 1st grade!

Vietnam Memorial

one of my favorite pictures from the whole trip!

Do you see Aleah in this picture (twice)?
Another fun picture taken by Dylan

Iwo Jima

and finally...
The White House!

Aleah had hit a wall by this point, so she and daddy just sat in the park and rested while Dylan and I walked to see the White House since you can't drive past it anymore.

Well, I think this is finally the end of the road for this trip! If you can't tell, we had a great time, saw a ton of stuff, and just really enjoyed our time as a family.

  1. Thanks Chris! I love writing my blog, even though I don't get to it as much as I would like! Over the summer I hope to have more time but that might be wishful thinking...
